Education with a Woman’s Perspective was launched on August 15, 2019, in response to the equity challenges facing Colombia in the educational and social spheres.
The initiative arose from a call by Dr. Ana María Piñeros Ricardo, Rector of the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation, who invited female rectors and leaders of higher education institutions across the country to begin a necessary conversation: how to contribute, from academia, to building more equitable, inclusive, and relevant educational pathways.
What began as an exercise in reviewing institutional capacities, research, and experiences soon became an inter-institutional alliance aimed at promoting equity from early childhood through higher education, leadership, and decision-making.
Over time, Education with a Woman’s Perspective has transcended inter-institutional dialogue to become a space for critical reflection, applied research, and knowledge production.
The initiative evolved from a mere support network into an academic and social endeavor driven by a profound conviction: to measure rigorously and provide compassionate support.
From this perspective, a woman’s perspective is understood as an integrative approach that allows us to recognize inequalities, expand opportunities, and strengthen the educational, familial, community, and institutional processes in which women and men participate.
In 2026, Education with a Woman’s Perspective entered a new phase with its consolidation as an Observatory: a technical, academic, and human space dedicated to generating evidence, promoting research and social intervention projects, and supporting decisions that contribute to educational transformation.
This new chapter features a transdisciplinary team responsible for realizing the Observatory’s vision and transforming data into useful knowledge, research into concrete actions, and community experiences into inspiring stories.
Through its programs and partnerships, the Observatory seeks to ensure that equity is no longer just a stated goal but translates into tangible realities in communities, institutions, and the lives of every student.
Today, Education with a Woman’s Perspective reaffirms its commitment: to unite science, humanism, and female leadership to contribute to a more equitable, inclusive, and globally-minded education.
